ALLARD PRAISES SUPREME COURT DECISION TO UPHOLD SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS
U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) praised the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to strike down one of the nation's strictest gun-control laws.
“I have always believed that the right to bear arms is fundamental,” said Allard. “Local officials should not be allowed to supersede the Constitution and prohibit residents of any city from owning a gun. In a day when so many of our values and principles seem to be under attack from extreme activists, it is refreshing to know that the principles of the Bill of Rights still offer the framework for the most free and prosperous nation in the world. I am very pleased to see the court uphold the core principle of American’s right to bear arms.”
