Artist Biography: Alan Magee

Alan Magee painting George Mitchell

Alan Magee studied at the Tyler School of Art and the Philadelphia College of Art.  He practiced editorial and book illustration for more than a decade before focusing on the body of work for which he is critically acclaimed: his acrylic on panel paintings of found objects.

The artist’s work is included in the collections of the Portland Museum of Art, the Farnsworth Art Museum in Maine, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.  Magee resides in Cushing, Maine.
