The governing committees of the Congressional media galleries will again allocate credentials and work space for the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO, Aug. 25-28, 2008; and the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, Sept. 1-4, 2008.

Information and application forms through this site are for DAILY NEWSPAPERS, WIRE SERVICES AND OTHER DAILY PUBLICATIONS. Radio and television organizations, magazines, and weekly and monthly publications must apply to their respective galleries. All photographers must apply to the Press Photographers’ Gallery.

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR CREDENTIALS AND PRESS STAND SEATS IS APRIL 15, 2008.

To apply for credentials, you must fill out an application form electronically. If you have not been credentialed for the conventions before, a cover letter on the letterhead of your organization may be requested.

Credentials are assigned on the condition that they are used by paid full-time correspondents of your organization. No stringers, freelancers, interns, students or family members will be credentialed. Only adults will be permitted on the press stands. You may be required to show an I.D. from your news organization to enter the press stands.
