The Senate is on the Motion to Proceed to HR 6304 -- Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

The Senate passed HR 6327, on the Airport-Airway trust fund, by voice vote after a DeMint objection to a Baucus amended version of the bill.

The Senate did not pass Medicare legislation after Sen. Reid made a motion to pass H.R. 6331, the longer term Medicare extension and Sen. Gregg objected. Sen. Reid objected to Sen. Gregg's motion to pass a 30-day extension to Medicare.

Sen. Reid said the Senate will vote on two Federal District judges (William T. Lawrence and G. Murray Snow) after an hour's debate sometime during the day today.

Sen. McConnell spoke on FISA and two fallen Kentucky soldiers.

Sen. Bond spoke on the Motion to Proceed to HR 6304.

11:45 - 12:30 wao

The Senate is running the post-cloture clock on the motion to proceed to HR6304, FISA. The thirty hours will expire at approximately 1:00 am Friday morning.

Senators Brown, Durbin and Kohl spoke on the Medicare fix bill. Senator Kohl tried to uc the bill but Senator Domenici objected.

The housing bill and a renewable energy amendment was the subject of Senator Ensign's statement.

Sens. Stevens, Murkowski, Murray, Crapo and Warner spoke on the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Alaska.

Sen. Stabenow spoke on Medicare. Sen. Session spoke on tanker contracts. Sen. Casey spoke on oil companies.

Sen. Whitehouse spoke on the pending business -- the motion to proceed to HR 6304, FISA legislation.

At 3:50, Sen. Specter began to speak about Judicial nominations.
