Senator Brian Schatz is accepting fall law clerk applications in his Washington, D.C. office. The program is open to any current law students or recent law graduates from an ABA accredited law school. Law clerks will work with attorneys in the office and they will participate in a variety of projects including: legal research, drafting memoranda that analyzes case law, statutes and legislation, attending briefings, and helping staff prepare for congressional hearings.  The office will work with clerks to fulfill requirements for most clinics, externships, and other legal programs. While most of the work is substantive in nature, law clerks are also assigned administrative tasks depending on the needs of the office.

Competitive applicants are motivated, hard-working, well-organized, and have strong written and oral communication skills. The Office of Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) seeks motivated, organized, and hardworking college students and recent graduates committed to public service to serve as interns in our Washington, DC, and Delaware offices this Fall. The Fall internship term begins in September 2025 and ends in early December 2025.

Interns in Washington, DC, are fully integrated into office operations. They work with the legislative staff to perform research, draft correspondence and memos, and attend hearings. Interns provide administrative support by greeting constituents, answering phones, and giving tours of the Capitol building. Our interns also work with the scheduling and press teams. Interns are encouraged to attend special events that occur in the Senate and the House of Representatives and will have the opportunity to explore the many monuments and landmarks of our Nation’s Capital.

Interns in the Senator’s offices in Delaware work closely with staff throughout the State to develop a thorough knowledge of local issues and constituent needs. Interns support office staff and answer constituent calls, conduct research, and monitor local news outlets for daily developments. State interns have the opportunity to attend events with Senator Blunt Rochester, such as constituent events and town hall meetings.

231480 MAX KAMPELMAN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM -

The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe seeks candidates for its Max Kampelman Fellowship program. They are accepting applicants for communications and policy fellowships. The Kampelman Fellowship program is open to current or registered graduate students; applications may be accepted from recent undergraduates (the beginning of the fellowship term should be less than one year since graduation), and in exceptional circumstances, undergraduate students with previous internship experience.

All Kampelman Fellowship candidates should have a keen interest in learning more about international affairs, the inner workings of Congress, and the relationship between the legislative and executive branches in the realm of foreign policy. Proficiency in a second OSCE language is an asset.

Pursuant to Section 704 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017, Pub. L. No. 115-31 (May 5, 2017), as amended, an applicant must be one of the following: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) a person who is lawfully admitted for permanent residence and is seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)(B); (3) a person who is admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157 or is granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1158 and has filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible; or (4) a person who owes allegiance to the United States.
