Senator Warnock, a member of the Senate Finance, Banking, and Agriculture Committees, seeks a legal intern this fall. Legal interns are responsible for assisting legislative staff with research and analysis for staff and the Senator. Interns may attend hearings, meetings, and briefings and assist with preparing related written materials. This position would be composed of substantive legal and legislative work requiring attention to detail, excellent research and writing skills, and a commitment to the values of the office. Interns may work on a variety of policy issues, but interns with specific interest in economic issues (including tax and trade), healthcare, or national security/foreign policy are of particular interest.

An ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest in the policy issues under the committee’s jurisdiction, including aviation and surface transportation, and a connection to the Pacific Northwest. The Republican Staff of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship are seeking interns to assist the Committee for the fall of 2025. Interns should expect to conduct policy and background research on legislation and policy issues relevant to the Committee. Interns will also assist with the Committee's hearings and mark-ups by compiling relevant information and developing reference materials for the Chair and her staff. Interns will be expected to help with communications materials as well. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in legislative affairs, possess excellent attention to detail, time management, and exhibit exceptional writing capabilities. Prior Hill internship experience, full time availability, and Iowa connections are preferred.

231812 FALL/WINTER PRESS INTERNSHIP -

The Office of Senator Maria Cantwell is currently accepting applications for our paid Fall/Winter press internship in Washington, D.C. This intern position would work with the communications team under the guidance of the Communications Director. The team communicates with press and constituents about topics stretching across all issue portfolios, so an intern should be ready to quickly familiarize themselves with a broad range of subjects. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, tracking media coverage, drafting press materials and social media content, graphic design, assisting with organizing media events and prepping for hearings, and more. This position requires strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Washington state ties are strongly preferred. The internship will run from early September 2025 - January 2026 (with some flexibility depending on interns’ school schedules). This position is full-time (30-40hrs/week), and may include remote work on mornings and weekends.

The Senate Committee on Finance Minority office (Ranking Member Wyden) is seeking a full-time intern, fellow, or law clerk to assist the Committee’s tax team for the fall of 2025. Interns, fellows, and law clerks routinely assist with legislative research projects, hearings, and other substantive assignments and administrative tasks. Previous interns have worked on a variety of tax policy issues; if selected, the office will work with you to find projects that best align with your interests.

Ideal candidates would be graduate or law students with a demonstrated interest in tax policy and strong written and oral communication skills. This position will start in September 2025. Although neither a salary nor expenses can be paid, often students are able to receive college credit for participating in the program.
