Daily Press Accreditation 2012 National Political Nominating Conventions

The governing committees of the Congressional media galleries will again allocate credentials and work space for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL, August 27-30; and the Democratic Convention in Charlotte, NC, September 3-6, 2012. The deadline for credential applications is April 15, 2012. The deadline for workspace applications is February 1, 2012. For further information, click here.

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene at 2:00pm, at which point the Majority Leader will be recognized and intends to move to proceed to the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act (S.3187).

At 4:30pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session in order to consider the nomination of Paul J. Watford to be a United States Circuit Judge for the 9th Circuit, with up to one hour for debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley, or their designees.

Upon the use or yielding back of time [at approximately 5:30pm], the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Watford nomination.

o If cloture is not invoked on the Watford nomination, the Senate will resume Legislative Session and immediately proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S. 3187.
