The Congressional media galleries have written to the Justice Department about the subpoena of telephone records of the Associated Press. Here is a link to the letter.
The Senate will convene at 2 p.m. and proceed after leader remarks to Morning Business for one hour. At 3 p.m., the Senate will proceed to consideration of S. 954, the farm bill. At 5 p.m., the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the following nominations, with 30 minutes of debate equally divided: -- Executive Calendar #45, Sheri Polster Chappell to be a United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of Florida; -- Executive Calendar #46, Michael J. McShane to be a United States District Court Judge for the District of Oregon. The Senate will proceed to votes on these nominations upon the use of yielding back of time, at approximately 5:30 p.m. At a time to be determined, the Senate will begin consideration of Executive Calendar #11, the nomination of Mark A. Barnett of Virginia, and Executive Calendar #12, the nomination of Claire Kelly of New York, both to be Judges of the U.S. Court of International Trade. Up to 30 minutes, equally divided, will be reserved for debate. Following the use or the yielding back of time, votes will occur on both nominations.
