The Senate Periodical Press Gallery, located in Room S-320 of the United States Capitol, serves the needs of news reporters for magazines, newsletters and non-daily newspapers whose reporters cover the United States Senate. The office offers computer workspace, telephones and message services, various reference materials and background information on the Senate. A staff of four Senate employees operate and maintain the office and assist reporters in a number of ways:
* Maintain log of Senate floor activities
* Operate as liaison between reporters and Senate officials and committee staff
* Set up press tables and handle statements and information at Senate committee hearings
* Answer reporters' questions about Senate activities, legislation, process and history
* Assist reporters' Executive Committee and the Senate in credentialing reporters to the gallery
* Maintain message logs
