We are now accepting submissions for our 2009 awards honoring the late Joan S. Barone
and David Bloom. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 3rd 2009. 
The winners of these awards will be announced at the 65th Annual 
Radio-TV Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Thursday, June 4th held at the 
Washington Convention Center. 

The award in honor of Joan Shorenstein Barone, former Executive Producer of 
CBS’ “Face the Nation”,will be presented for excellence in Washington-based
reporting of Congressional and political affairs. Entries should focus on public
affairs and coverage of Congress. This competition is open to all RTCA members 
who hold an active Congressional Radio-TV Galleries credential.

The David Bloom Award honors the late NBC correspondent and anchor by recognizing 
excellence and couragein enterprise, investigative or feature reporting. Reporting 
that is fresh, daring and/or undertaken in difficult circumstances is encouraged.
