This leather portfolio, together with a commemorative glass picture frame, was presented to attendees of the Inaugural Luncheon held in National Statuary Hall as part of the 57th Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies. The portfolio's navy-blue leather cover is stamped in gold with the Great Seal of the United States at the top center. Inside are two removable paper folio inserts. The Capitol Dome: Symbol of Faith in America's Future" authored by Senate Historian Donald A. Ritchie; and a list of official presidential inaugurations. The folio on the right contains a collection of 10 illustrated essays on various topics of U.S. history, including the Emancipation Proclamation, homesteading, the transcontinental railroad, and the statue of Freedom, among others.
