- Object Description
- This portfolio containing reproductions of historic prints and copies of the Inaugural Luncheon menu and program was presented to attendees of the Inaugural Luncheon held in National Statuary Hall as part of the 49th Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies. The portfolio's red-leather cover features the Great Seal of the United States stamped in gold. Inside, a blue ribbon holds a paper folio on each side. The folio on the left-hand side includes black-and-white reproductions of six historic prints that depict past presidential inaugurations, including those held for Abraham Lincoln (1861 and 1865), Ulysses S. Grant (1873), Rutherford B. Hayes (1877), Grover Cleveland (1893), and Theodore Roosevelt (1905). The folio on the right includes the menu and program for the luncheon. After the inauguration, a copy of President Ronald Reagan's inaugural address was sent to luncheon guests as an additional insert for the portfolio.
