On June 5, 1882, the Senate Select Committee on Woman Suffrage favorably reported a constitutional amendment to the full Senate for its consideration. “We conclude…every reason…which bestows the ballot upon man is equally applicable to the proposition to bestow the ballot upon woman.” The Senate did not vote on the measure.
