From 1909 to 1912, battery-powered Studebaker cars transported senators from the Senate Office Building to the Capitol. The Studebaker Company purchased the decommissioned cars in 1939, restoring one (pictured here) for display in its museum in South Bend, Indiana. The second car was later acquired by the Swigart Automobile Museum in Huntington, Pennsylvania.
