  • Object Description
  • This ornate three-dimensional desert scene was accepted by a senator on behalf of the United States in 2012 as a gift from a government official of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The composition includes three figures and a camel gathered by a tent under two palm trees. Two of the figures are seated on rugs. The entire group, made of silver and gold, sits atop a polished lapis lazuli base. As with all foreign gifts, its acceptance and use are governed by the Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act (5 U.S.C. § 7342).
