Mr. Edward J. Markey, from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, called the Senate to order at 10 a.m., Dr. Daniel McClure, American Legion National Chaplain, of Washington, Iowa offered a prayer, and Mr. Markey led the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
