Mrs. Cindy Hyde-Smith, from the State of Mississippi, called the Senate to order at10 a.m., the Rev. Doctor Richard Gibbons, of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC offered a prayer, and Mrs. Hyde-Smith led the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
