Ms. Susan M. Collins, from the State of Maine, called the Senate to order at 11 a.m., the Chaplain offered a prayer, and Ms. Collins led the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Legislative Business (Saturday, January 19)

S. 1 (Sen. Rubio): A bill to make improvements to certain defense and security assistance provisions and to authorize the appropriation of funds to Israel, to reauthorize the United States-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act of 2015, and to halt the wholesale slaughter of the Syrian people, and for other purposes.
-- Motion to proceed to measure considered in Senate.

S.Res. 25 (Sen. Scott, of SC): A resolution designating the week of January 20 through January 26, 2019, as "National School Choice Week" .
-- Submitted in the Senate, considered, and agreed to without amendment and with a preamble by Unanimous Consent.
